An unprecedented five men finished under 2:05:00, including Berhanu Shiferaw and Tadese Tola in second and third. However the winner was Lelisa Desisa winning the men’s race in 2:04:45, just outside the course record. Tirfi Tsegaye took the women’s title in 2:23:23, making it an Ethiopian clean sweep.
